Emergency Operations

Cranbrook’s Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) is a guide to how the Cranbrook Educational Community conducts specific emergency response actions for potential emergency situations. While this procedure provides detailed action steps, the user must keep in mind that all emergency events are unique and that procedures can and should be implemented on a scalable, flexible, adaptable basis to align with the challenges presented by the emergency.

This EOP is the result of collaboration between Cranbrook Educational Community, Bloomfield Hills Public Safety Department, and Oakland County Homeland Security Division. It is based on guidelines and recommendations set forth by the All-Hazards Emergency Operations Planning Guidance for Schools-2014, the Hazard Vulnerability Assessment (HVA) conducted by Oakland County Homeland Security Division, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Department of Education.

Cranbrook Educational Community will continue to coordinate with local, county and state government in an effort to continually develop, refine and implement these procedures to ensure that it maintains the safest environment possible for its students, faculty, staff and visitors.

Cranbrook updates its EOP in conjunction with local and federal law enforcement on an annual basis.

Cranbrook’s EOP (General Plan) is available for download by following the instructions under ‘Listed Plan’. Access to Division Specific EOP’s can be requested through the office of the Director of Security & Safety.
