Cranbrook Art Museum, Cranbrook Institute of Science and Cranbrook House and Gardens are open to the public to tour and to take outdoor photographs of their visit with a personal camera-during their operating hours with paid admission. The school areas of campus are not open to the public. Photographs must be for personal use and may not be sold, used for promotion or advertising, or be published online or in print without prior Cranbrook approval. Use of Cranbrook grounds by professional or amateur photographers as a backdrop pertaining to portraits such as weddings, engagements, family photos, modeling portfolios, prom photos etc. is not permitted unless one of Cranbrook’s approved professional photographers is being utilized.
The Cranbrook grounds make a beautiful backdrop for photographs. Individuals wishing to have their photographs taken at Cranbrook must select one of the approved professional photographers listed below due to programmatic, contractual and liability reasons. This policy applies to all professional photography and videography on campus. We are unable to grant permission to use a non-approved photographer. If you would like to utilize Cranbrook's grounds as a venue for your professional pictures, please contact one of our approved photographers. They handle the associated costs, scheduling, location and access to the campus for you during the session based upon availability.
Please note: Due to the safety and security of our faculty, staff and students, we do not currently allow aerial photographs (drones) over our campus.
