Head of Boys Middle School

The Head is responsible for the effective operation of the Boys Middle School, the development and oversight of curricular and extracurricular programs, and for providing leadership to faculty, staff, parents, students and other School constituents. The Head of the Boys Middle School has considerable autonomy in carrying out these responsibilities, while at the same time works closely with the Director of Schools and also with the Head of the Girls Middle School in order to coordinate and complement operations of the Middle Schools. Requires a Master’s degree with successful school experience demonstrating progressive leadership and responsibility (at least five years of school administration experience preferred); demonstrated ability for long term strategic planning, and successful curricular and extracurricular development; proven fiscal and personnel management skills; a commitment to the goals and objectives of Cranbrook Schools; and strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to nurture a diverse student and faculty population. Help Desk Technician

Needed to provide first level direct problem resolution support to technology users throughout Cranbrook, working both remotely and at end-user locations.   Problem areas include, but are not limited to, telephone, internet, PC hardware and software, network, and overall diagnostic and trouble-shooting.  Responsibilities include:  Receive calls and messages from end-users and act on inquiries based on preliminary assessment and urgency. Troubleshoot both at end-users’ offices and remotely using remote management tools. Technical problem-solving in a networked, multi-operating system environment with email, office systems, web browsers, printer, client and PC setups, voicemail, telephone/telecommunications, data networking and specialized peripherals and software. Enter issues into call tracking database, and resolve them in a timely and effective manner documenting resolution steps. One-on-one coaching sessions with end-users in person or via telephone. Position also requires participation in rotating on-call schedule during off hours.  Requirements:  Requires a minimum of two years experience with Microsoft Windows and Office systems (e.g. XP, 2000, 2003, 2007), data net­working concepts, Microsoft Exchange/Outlook client, software installa­tion and configuration, PC and printer setups, Internet fundamentals, remote support tools, and tele­communications troubleshooting.  High School Diploma or GED required; some college or Bachelor Degree preferred.  Experienced in working with end-users in solving technical problems, the coaching of users with new material, and methodically recording and implementing problems and resolutions.  It will be necessary to expend extra effort to maintain and build technical currency.  Must have strong technical, team, customer service, and problem-solving skills.  Maintenance of processes such as inventory, equipment disposal, etc. may be assigned to this individual.  A valid Michigan driver’s license with satisfactory driving record is required.
